Drawing a face 100 faces in 4 days

How do you draw a face? The following are a few pages from my sketchbooks over the last month, all drawings of faces. My obsessive face sketching began when I look over my old sketches and discovered I couldn't draw a face properly. I think i was concentrating on features like the eyes and nose while ignoring the overall proportions of the head. It took about 100 faces sketches completed in 4 days start to get things right.

I'm still making simple mistakes like the spacing of the eyes and the length of the face. I found drawing a portrait the hardest thing I ever attempted, so I'm not going to identify who I was drawing in any particular sketch. I thought these were the most successful.
